The African Grey Parrot are a mid sized parrot with purple grey feathering and a splashy red or maybe maroon patch over the end of their tails. They’ve a big white colored patch around their eyes. A wide variety of fresh fruits and flowers like figs, soapberries, palm fruits, and also others are eaten by them. These parrots go around in huge flocks, in the thousands, from a single region of fruiting trees to yet another. Today, flocks are far smaller.
Grey parrots are made popular as pets due to their amazing ability to mimic sounds. They do not just mimic. Studies involving grey parrots show they’re able to place ideas and words into context and will express those ideas using human speech. Cognitive psychologist Dr. Irene Pepperberg showed intelligence of these remarkable parrots with her famous grey parrot research topic, Alex.
